The hut requires constant repairs due to a leaking roof especially during rainy season and the family gets sleepless nights. The family survives through subsistence farming although the yield is low due to poor cultivation methods used and cannot provide enough income to support the family acquire other basic needs. The family is solely dependent on one of the uncles who now works tooth and nail to provide family needs by herding animals of other people. On average, the family earns less than US 10 dollars a month. His family fetches water from a nearby borehole which serves more than 250 households.
