Mirriam is a jolly girl who comes from an extended family of eight members all living under the care of their grandmother in one of the remote villages in the mid-western part of Uganda characterized by subsistence farming. They majorly grow food crops for home consumption. Mirriam enjoys drawings from her aunts and uncles at home. she is still too young to be enrolled to school. Her mother and grandmother are both peasant farmers who depend majorly on farming on a small piece of land however, their efforts to support Mirriam and sibling is a challenge as the crops grown are affected by pests, diseases and, the ever-changing climatic conditions hence producing low and poor yields. On average a month, they earn approximately 25 US dollars from sell of crops which is a low income, and unable to sustain the family needs. Her community has challenges of access to clean and safe drinking water, they draw water from unprotected spring wells exposing them to waterborne diseases. Your wonderful choice to sponsor Mirriam will be of a blessing in achieving her dreams through participation in the organizations programs.
