Joshua is a humble boy who comes from a family of nine members. He is the youngest child living under the care of his elderly grandparents after separation of his parents. They live in mid-western Uganda in a community characterized by subsistence farming. Joshua is too young to be enrolled in school. He likes playing with toy cars made from local materials by his siblings. His grandparents earn a living through subsistence farming on a small piece of land growing majorly food crops for home consumption, however, due to old age they are unable to provide much for the family. The family depends on water drawn from the banks of the nearby Nile River because the community only has only one borehole which serves a very large population. Water from the Nile River poses a great risk to the children of Joshuas age since it harbors dangerous aquatic animals such as crocodiles and hippopotamuses. Your kind choice to sponsor Joshua will be a blessing to him and the community through the program intervention of the organization.
