Paulo is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, William and Eliandra, and with a younger sister, in a small community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Electricity is available. Water is carried from an artesian well. William struggles to earn a living as a servant on constructions when available, but his very low income is far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Paulo is playful and cheerful. He helps his mom by putting his toys away. He likes playing soccer and tag in the company of other kids his age. Paulo is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends a local public preschool where he is making good progress. He says that he will be a police officer, or maybe a drummer, when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Paulo and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
