Maria is a very young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Regibergson and Leiliane, and with two sisters, in a small rural village located in the interior of the state of Ceara, which is a hot and remote region. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, rough cement floors and a clay-tiled roof. It has a simple bathroom. Regibergson works as a day laborer in agriculture when available and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Maria is an active and sweet baby. She crawls all over the floor and stands on her feet without support for a little while. She takes bottles as well as solid foods like corn pap and vegetable soup. She likes playing with colorful and noisy toys. Maria is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. Through your support Maria and her family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
