Mariama is a cheerful and friendly girl who lives with her parents and five elder siblings. They dwell in a farming community in the northern part of Sierra Leone. Mariama and her siblings sleeps on a straw mat spread on the unpaved dirt-floor with a locally made wooden-bed. Her parents is a small-scale farmer who cultivate upland rice. Her mother sells part of the produce in a near by market to help take care of Mariama and siblings. The annual income generated is inadequate to address their basic needs. She like to play balancing ball with her friends after school. Sponsoring Mariama will gradually change the narrative of her life.
