Vaaba is a young boy who lives with his parents in the eastern part of Sierra Leone. Their house is built with brick walls, rough cement floors and zinc as roof top. They depend on small scale farming for their livelihood. Their annual income from farming is estimated at US$200 which is not enough to cater for all their basic needs. When there is nothing for the day to eat, the father sometimes in his free time works in his neighbors farms just to make ends meet. Vaabas considered to have good health in spite of the poor living conditions. The parents benefited from community meeting on sponsorship integration with program. The community he lives fetches water from a well that is located in the middle of the village. They use wood to cook their meals. The family depends on one meal a day which contributes to poor growth in children. With sponsorship, this family would have their basic needs and the children will be educated to contribute to the development of their community for a better future.
