Jhamil lives in the rural valleys of Cochabamba, Bolivia. He is part of a farming community, where life is a constant struggle. Living in a modest adobe house with his parents, his world is filled with the colors of nature. He is a joyful, sweet and playful boy. He spends his days exploring the lush green fields, chasing after butterflies, and playing with cars. He is enrolled in kindergarten. But amidst the beauty of his surroundings, his family struggles to make ends meet. Even though they dedicate countless hours to cultivating their land and raising animals, they are unable to provide for their family. Their income depends on unpredictable weather patterns, limited access to resources, and volatile market prices. Their income is around US $ 129.00 per month. Sponsorship programs have the potential to greatly benefit rural children by providing them with access to education, mentorship, and other essential resources.
