Rhana is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Francisco and Aline, and with a younger sister, on the outskirts of a small town located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Francisco sells greens and vegetables (doing odd jobs) and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Rhana is calm, shy and intelligent. She helps her mom by making the beds. Her favorite pastimes include playing tag and hide-and-seek. Rhana is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends a local public primary school and her favorite subject is Portuguese. Her big dream is to become a veterinarian someday. The family is needy and through your support Rhana and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
