Joel is an obedient young boy. He lives with both parents and siblings in the central Uganda. They stay in a grass thatched house. He is enrolled at an Early Childhood Development Centre and his best learning areas are reading and reciting ryhmes, he fails to attend school most times because his parents cannot afford to provide all the basic needs and school requirements to him and siblings. His parents practice small scale farming on a rented piece of land to get food and some income. Their monthly income is US 15 dollars which is insufficient to cater for all basic needs and this make them to stave from hunger and lack access to quality services like education and medical services, they use local herds to treat him whenever he falls sick and this affect his proper health hence being at risk of death and all his family members. Despite all the challenges Joel is so helpful to his family as he involves in carrying out garden work and also fetching water from the well. He enjoys playing football with friends.
