Ivan is a cheerful boy, living with both parents and siblings in North Eastern Uganda. He has started his education journey at the kindergarten. He uses fresh flowers to colour his pictures. His parents are subsistence farmers, growing traditional crops on an acre piece of land as their major source of livelihood. They grow maize, beans, millet, cassava, and vegetables. The yield has been on a declining trend due to over cultivation, prolonged dry spell, and water logging during the rainy season. The yield cannot provide the family with enough food to sustain them through the year besides getting income to acquire other basic needs. The family average income per month is less than US 10 dollars. He enjoys running round their house, chasing grasshoppers to play with. He uses these grasshoppers as oxen, imitating their neighbours ploughing. His favourite fruit is a mango. We are hopeful that with your kind support to Ivan, he can achieve a lot in life.
