Yerah lives with his parents, a brother and three sisters in a mud brick house roofed with thatch. They live in a small farming community in Koinadugu district which is located in the northern part of Sierra Leone. His parents are Subsistence farmers who grow rice, yam, cassava and sweet potatoes. Their combined annual income is estimated at US$:280. This income is not enough to address the basic needs of Yerah and family. His needs such as square meal per day, clothes, bed and bedding, footwear among others are therefore often neglected. His health is normal and loves playing with toys. Despite their difficult condition, Yerah is happily attending school in his community but lack most of the materials needed for education. He hopes to be educated and become a meaningful citizen in the future if given the opportunity through sponsorship.
