Lamin is a friendly little boy that lives with his mother, three brothers and a sister in a village near a tall rocky hill in the rural part of the country. His father died from a severe waist and side pain due to continues using of climbing belt to tap palm wine for their daily food. The family dwell in a small mud house at the extreme end of the village with poor toilet facility. They sleep on local grass mattresses on the floor using old blanket to cover and with poor bedding facilities. He is suffering from an eye infection which makes him difficult to open his eyes more especially when the sun is hot. He always scratches his eyes which runs water when in class. The mother who is now the braed winner of a family of six burn chercoal for sales with the support of Lamin uncle. His mother monthly income of US$27 from the sales of chercoal only helps to provide a single meal a day and nothing else. Lamin attends the community Nursery school.
