Nathel is a cheerful young girl who lives with both parents and has two brothers. She comes from Luangwa and lives in a grass thatched house mad of packed dirty. The familys main source of income is small scale farming. They own a small traditional land where they farm seasonal crops such as maize and pumpkins and later sell their surplus. They also gather seasonal fruits which they sell to their Neighbours. The money earned is little as it enough to meet basic needs hence the need for support as the family barely lives on less than US$2 a day. Nathel is not yet in school but very hopeful that shell ben enrolled in school soon. She loves playing with toys made of clay soil.
