Mathew is a brave boy who likes chasing grasshoppers. He lives in North Eastern Uganda with both parents and sibling. His parents are subsistence farmers, growing traditional crops on an acre piece of land as their major source of livelihood. They grow maize, beans, millet, cassava and vegetables. Unfortunately, the yield has been on a declining trend due to over cultivation coupled with prolonged dry spells and water logging. The yield cannot provide the family with enough food to sustain them throughout the year besides getting income to acquire other basic needs. The family average income per month is less than US 10 dollars. His favourite fruit is an Orange. We are hopeful that with your kind support to Mathew, he can achieve a lot in life.
