Sharifa is a strong girl who likes helping her family fetch water for mixing mud which they use for building their grass thatched hut. They reside in North Easter Uganda and sleep in small grass thatched hut made of mud walls and wattle. This hut needs regular repairs which is very costly coupled with scarcity of thatching grass. The floor is smeared with cow dung twice a month to reduce on dust. His father who is the sole provider is overwhelmed by the family needs. Their main source of income is subsistence farming which is on small scale. They grow crops such as cassava, maize and sweet potatoes for home consumption and the little surplus is sold to get income. Sharifa goes to nearby primary but lacks enough books to write in class so at times she is forced her to miss classes. She likes singing and her favorite dish is Rice and chicken though the family cannot afford. On average, the family earns less than US 10 dollars a month. We believe that your kind sponsorship will bring a positive change in her life and family.
