Asna is a smart and bright girl. She comes from a backward tribal family and lives with her parents and one brother in a remote village located in Jharkhand in eastern India. They share a mud hut that lacks basic facilities. Her father works long and exhausting hours as a farmer. Still, his annual salary of approximately USD 240 is insufficient to support the family and pay for education, household expenses, and other necessities. The mother is a dedicated housewife, without any income, she is not able to make ends meet despite her best efforts. Finally, the humble parents turned to this project for help with the childs care and education. Asna attends preschool and enjoys counting numbers in Hindi the national language.
