Angelo is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Alfredo and Vitoria, on the outskirts of a small town about 100 miles south of the city of Fortaleza. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Alfredo takes some odd jobs when available (mostly as a barbecue man) and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Angelo is cheerful, affectionate and intelligent. He helps his mom by putting away items like toys and dishes. He likes playing with toy cars in the company of other kids his age. Angelo is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He is still too young to attend school. The family is needy and through your support Angelo and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
