Yirah is a smart and intelligent boy who lives with his parents and two other cousins in a small farming settlement in the northern part of Sierra Leone. They live in a four bedroom mud bricks house with unpaved dirt floors. They access toilet facilities from the neighbouring house. His father is a subsistence farmer and the mother sells assorted fruits in the local market. Their joint monthly income is about a US$ 40.00 which is too small to meet the family basic needs. They access drinking water from a hand pump well constructed by Daindenben Federation. Yirah is attending school and like to challenge his peers in reading nursery rhymes. His healthy is good and a promising boy who lives happily with his peers. He sleeps with one of his cousins of the same age group on a mud bed. With sponsorship, Yirah will have a brighter future.
