Luiz is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Luiz and Segilene, and with one sister and one brother, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Luiz works as a salesman and his earnings are far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Luiz is cheerful, affectionate, intelligent, and communicative. He likes playing soccer along with his friends. Luiz is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends a local public primary school and his favorite subject is Portuguese. His big dream is to become a professional soccer player when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Luiz and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
