Nancy is a jovial girl who lives in Turkana County in the northern part of Kenya. She lives together with both parents and one brother. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house. They get their water from a nearby river which can expose them to waterborne diseases. The father is the main breadwinner who depends on collecting and selling firewood, the mother also does weaving and selling of mats, baskets, brooms, and traditional trays made from the local materials. The family’s annual income is less than $ 360 which hardly meets their basic needs. This challenge forces the family to struggle hard to get food, medical care, school supply, house supply and other necessities. Nancy attends a nearby school in their village and performs well in drawing and coloring and wishes to become a medical doctor in the future. Nancy likes playing with toys with her friends during her free time. Community leaders referred the parent to seek help from child fund project to assist Nancy achieve her dream. According to her parent, your support will bring a lasting change to Nancy’s life.
