Am pleased to introduce to you Joyce who lives with her parents and siblings and she is a first child in her family. They live in a single room mud walled house with packed dirt floors demanding constant repair. Her mother is a small-scale farmer who grows for food. For an income to the family, she also sells vegetables in the market. She earns averagely 20 dollars a month to cater for the family needs but due to the meagre incomes, Joyce walks bare footed to her public school. She is psychologically affected and cries whenever bullied. Also due to lack of scholastic needs like books, Joyce and her siblings often miss school. She has to dress up in her only ragged torn dresses daily with her siblings and sleep on a bare ground with old papyrus carpeting. She is scratched due to constant itching from small crawling insect bites each night, also a risk to diseases. Joyce is generally of good health, supports her family in fetching water 3 kilometres from home and enjoys playing with baby dolls. With hopes for a better future, your support for her is an answered prayer.
