Tanus young life is marred by poverty and misery. Her father works as a labor in order to maintain the family. His hard work fetches him a very low income of approximately US Dollar 729 per annum, which living in an urban city, does not suffice to tide over the financial problems. The mother being a housewife, is at her wits end trying to solve the mounting problems, but there is hardly any sign of improvement in their living conditions. Finally in utter desperation, they sought aid from this project in order to provide a better future for this child. Tanu is  attending school, and  is active. Her favorite subjects are Science and Kannada language. She enjoys playing with dolls and all sorts of group games with her friends.  Her health is average.  Tanu has one younger brother.
