The father relies on seasonal farming. He usually grows beans and millet for food, and groundnuts for sale. How hard he has tried, he does not earn more than US $1,440 in a year – not enough to satisfy the basic needs of his family. The mother strives to provide two meals a day. Cooking for lunch is a must but dinner and breakfast are not provided every day. Awa is a smiling healthy girl. If someone is willing to sponsor her, she will enjoy better living conditions, and have good education by drawing benefits from through the Federation programs.
