Jantanipa or Nano a girl was born into a needy family that lacks various opportunities. Her father and mother are separated, and she lives with her maternal grandmother and older sister. Her father has never contacted her; her mother got married again and sent some money to the family once in a while. Her grandmother is very old; she does not have a plot of farmland to work on but grows rice in the remaining area around the house for home consumption. The yields are not enough for the family to eat and her grandmother would walk around the village selling fried bananas; she could not sell if she did not have the bananas and there would be a loss of income.
