Mame Diarra or Diarra for short, as she is dearly called at home is an open minded, energetic young girl. Mame Diarra, her three senior sisters and their parents accommodate in one room in a big family house made of concrete walls. They have access to running water and electricity supplies. They share dependencies with the extended family members. Mame Diarra’s father relies on seasonal farming. He usually grows sorghum and beans for food, and groundnuts for sale. In dry season he works as mason. His yearly income of about US $ 1,440 in a year is not enough to correctly satisfy the basic needs of his family. The mother keeps the house in shift with the other women in the family. They do their best to serve two daily meals to the family at large. The parents’ dire wish for their beloved daughter is to have a caring sponsor who will help to stay healthy and get good education. If you are willing to act as such, they would be forever grateful for.
