He is in custody of the mother because his parents never got married. The family earns a living through subsistence farming. Being a rural setting, the money earned annually is less than US$200 which is not enough to cater for all their basic needs, hence their request to enroll Given for sponsorship. Given is in pre-school and enjoys drawing. He is fairly a healthy child; he enjoys playing with toys.
