Eshika lives with her parents, one brother, and one sister in a remote tribal village in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand.  Her father is engaged as a casual laborer earning approximately USD 497 per year. The meager income is not sufficient to take care of the household and other basic expenses. The mother is a resourceful housewife. However, she is not able to make ends meet despite her best efforts. The humble parents approached this project to provide the child with a better future. Eshika is attending government primary school and does well in all subjects especially Hindi, the national language. She enjoys playing group games with friends.  Her health is good.
