Namrata lives with her parents and one brother in a remote tribal village in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand. Her father is engaged as a casual laborer earning approximately USD 440 per year. The meager income is insufficient to take care of the household and other basic expenses. The mother is a resourceful housewife. She is not able to make ends meet despite her best efforts. The humble parents approached this project to provide the child with a better future with quality education. Namrata is attending a government primary school.  Her favorite subject is Hindi, the national language.  She enjoys playing house games and group games with friends.  Her health is good.
