Marie is a smart and clever girl who lives with her parents and two sisters in a deprived community in the northern part of Sierra Leone. They live in a four bedroom mud bricks house with unpaved dirt floors. They access toilet facilities from a neighbouring house. Her father is a small scale farmer and the mother sells assorted fruits at the local market. Their combined monthly income is estimated at US Dollars 40.00 which is not enough to meet the basic needs of the family. They usually obtain drinking water from a hand pump well constructed by Daindemben Federation. Marie is attending school and like to challenge his peers in reciting the English alphabets and nursery rhymes. She is a healthy and promising girl who lives happily with her peers. She sleeps with her cousins on a locally made wooden bed with no proper beddings. With sponsorship, Marie will have a brighter future.
