Janati lives with a grandmother after the death of her father in a simple two -roomed bricked, metal roofed and parked dirt floor house lacking essentials such as electricity and sanitation. The old grandmother is also weak to provide for the family. The family depends on small scale farming on a small piece of land which earns them an average monthly income of US 25 dollars. The grandmother together with Janati and siblings sleep on beddings without proper blanket so exposed to them coldness. In most cases, they eat one meal in a day which exposes them to malnutrition and stunted growth. Janati has not yet joined School due to her tender age. She is a courageous and will be intelligent girl doing when she starts school in future. Her grandmother has an ambition to see her grandson growing in better conditions and becoming a responsible citizen in the future if opportunity is given. She finds happiness when carrying baby dolls which her grandmother makes out of banana fibres because they cannot afford modern ones. She would welcome any assistance from a caring friend to help make her live a better future.
