Diarra is a kind and calm girl. She lives with her parents and siblings in the countryside. Her father is, like most of the people living in this area, a traditional farmer. As for the mother, she stays at home to perform the house chores. The father manages to bring home about US $ 500.00 each year at the end of the season. This annual income is hardly enough to take care of the family’s basic needs. Diarra is attending the village elementary school where she is doing quite well. At home, she enjoys playing with her dolls and with her friends. She is also helpful with small errands and the light house chores.
