Thomas and his brothers are all kept by both parents. The family’s main source of income is subsistence farming. They grow maize which is a staple food crop. Besides, they also grow cassava and vegetables which they sometimes sell at the local market in order to increase the family income. The annual income stands at $500 which is not enough to provide the family with daily needs. This has made his mother to enroll Thomas in the program.
