Nelson is such a creative boy who makes toy cars using clay that he uses for playing. He lives with both parents and siblings in North Eastern Uganda. They sleep in small grass thatched huts made of mud walls and wattle with packed dirt flooring. These huts need regular repairs which is very costly coupled with scarce thatching grass. The floors are smeared with cow dung twice a month to reduce on dust. His father who is the sole provider is overwhelmed by the family needs. Their main source of income is subsistence farming which is on small scale. They grow crops such as cassava, maize and sweet potatoes for home consumption and the surplus is sold to get income. Nelson attends kindergarten on week days and his favorite subject is drawing and coloring. His favorite dish is rice and fish which the family cannot afford to buy for him. We believe that through your kind sponsorship to Nelson will enable him attain a better future.
