Sponsor A Child

Vihanga is very happy when he plays cricket and rides his bicycle. He lives with his brother, sister and parents in a beautiful little village located in the Moneragala district of Sri Lanka. His village is green and lush but it is also poverty-stricken and Vihanga’s household is no exception. The annual household income of Vihanga’s family is USD550/-.This income is generated by Vihanga’s father by having a little Tea Shop.  His mother attends to the house work, looks after the children and tries to manage the house expenses with their small income. Vihanga attends a local school and he travels to school in a School van with his brother.  He loves to learn mathematics. They live in their own house which has been partially built with bricks. The floor is cemented and the roof is covered with clay tiles. They have access to proper sanitary facilities, electricity and tap water. If a kind hearted Sponsor were to step forward to help little Vihanga he would be able to reach out for a better future for himself with confidence and the burden of his parents would be reduced greatly.
