Mariama is living with her family comprising her parents, Aunts, siblings and Uncles in one of the rural communities in the Gambia. Her parents are seasonal farmers who venture into food cropping to support the familys up keeping, but due to inadequate farming implements and poor soil quality, the parents experience a significant drop in the harvest on seasonal basis making it challenging to meet the basic family needs. She is healthy and active. Her hobbies include dancing and playing with toys. She is still going to the Community Nursery School preparing for Primary education in the near future. It is Therefore based on this fascinating story about both the child and family She has been enrolled in ChildFund sponsorship to give the family an opportunity to participate and benefit from Family support programs to improve their current situation.
