Simon is a hardworking boy who lives in Turkana County in the northern part of Kenya. He lives together with his parents, brother and sister. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house. They get their water from a nearby river whose water is not clean as it predisposes the child to waterborne diseases. The mother is the bread winner who depends on making and selling charcoal. The family also practices mat weaving as an income supplementation activity. However, the annual income generated from this economic activity is below 3600 US dollars which is not enough to cater for family basic needs. For this reason, his mother decided to approach the office seeking for further assistance in raising their child. Simon goes to a nearby school in the village; he does well in counting and drawing. Simon likes singing with his friends during his free time. According to his parents, Simon would like to be a doctor in future. Your support will bring a lasting change to Simon’s life.
