Simon Peter is a talkative boy, living with both parents and sibling in North Eastern Uganda. He attends school in the kindergarten within the community. This region is disadvantaged in terms of access to social services like clean water, education, health and infrastructures. The family has to walk for 6 Kilometers to access health services. They sleep in small grass thatched houses made of mud walls and wattle. The family has to make routine repairs on the houses on yearly basis. The family practices subsistence farming as the source of livelihoods. However, the yields are affected by pests, soil erosion and soil infertility. Often times, low yields are experienced and this makes it very difficult to provide enough food and to produce an income sufficient to meet other basic needs of the family. The family average monthly income is US10 dollars. The family fetches water from a seasonal pond which is unclean and it is usually shared with animals. With your sponsorship, Simon Peter will receive support in accessing basic needs.
