Umu is a quite girl who lives with her parents and other family members in a mud house with old zinc roof in a remote village in the eastern part of Sierra Leone. Her parents are small scale farmers who grow crops and vegetables such as rice maize, pepper, cassava and potato. After harvest some of the products are sold to take care of other family needs like health, education and clothing. Their income is insufficient to provide all the basic needs for Umu and family. She sleeps in a local bed and a savanna grass stuffed mattress with her parents. Umu attands school and her favorite subject is number work. Her health is good. She is fun to be with and loves to play local outdoor games with her peers. A potential sponsor like you can help her to actualize her dream of becoming a medical nurse in future.
