Samaria lives with her parents, one sister and other close realtives in a small village in one of the hard to reach communities in Sierra Leone. The family occupy a four bed rooms mud house roofed with old zinc. Their village is deprived from medical facility, parent travel long distance to access medication and immunization for Veronica. Father is a rice farmer who also engages on charcoal burning as source of income. They raise an annual income estimated at US$259. The income raised after selling some of the produce from their harvest is used for food and other basic needs. However, she lacks decent school shoes and other school items because the parents can not afford as needed. She attends the community primary school and walks to and from school with her peers everyday. With the help of a kind sponsor, Samaria will be able to benefit free medical facility and frequent immunization to gain good health to become an educated and confident child.
