Sheka Kadiatu lives in a village located in the Northern Province of the country. He lives with his mother and siblings in a mud brick house that is deprived of electricity and leaks during the rains. Father has developed another relationship in the capital city and has never set eyes on Sheka. He sleeps with his siblings on the floor spreading local mat with old bed net and thick cloth for covering. They are exposed to cold and mosquito bites. Mother is a petty trader who depends on buying and selling agricultural produce on periodic market days. She also practices backyard gardening growing groundnuts and other vegetables that she harvests and sell to feed the family. Her combine annual income of US$ 269. hardly meet the basic needs of the family. They share a bowl of rice twice a day. Sheka Kadiatu is healthy and has just started attending the pre-school in the village. With sponsorship, Sheka Kadiatu will grow up to become an educated and confident child.
