Awa is a polite and calm girl. She lives with her parents and siblings in one of the remote villages located in the countryside. Her father is, like most of the people living in this area, a traditional farmer. In addition, he is a community relay in the sponsorship program. As for the mother, she stays at home to perform the house chores. The father manages to bring home about US $1,230.00 each year after selling part of his crops at the end of the season. This annual income is hardly enough to take care of the family’s basic needs. Awa is not in school because she has not reached the required age. She stays most of the time at home. She enjoys having fun with her dolls and playing with the other kids of the house. Sponsorship would help this girl have a good education and succeed in life.
