Miatta is a quiet girl who lives with her parents, three brothers and two sisters in a small village located in the eastern part of Sierra Leone. They live in a small house built with mud and roofed with old zinc. Her parents depend on small scale farming for their livelihood. They grow rice, cassava, yam and other vegetables. The mother also does backyard gardening to make ends meet. Some of the crops when harvested are sold to meet other family needs. The annual income of the family is estimated at US $ 230. This amount is insufficient to take care of all the basic needs of the family. Miatta is attending primary school in her community. She likes to play balance ball game with her sisters. Sponsorship would help this girl to have her basic needs with hope for a better future.
