Salamatu also called Sallay is a beautiful girl, who lives with her parents and siblings in a farming community in the far north of Sierra Leone. Her village is hard to reach and lack safe drinking water and good roads facility. They fetch water from the stream nearby swamps. They dwell in an old mud bricks house of three bed rooms roofed with old zinc which has some leakages especially during the rains. She sometimes suffers from cold as a result of the leakages from the roof. The child is in good health at present. She sleep with her parents on a local bed with poor beddings. Her parents depend on farming as their main source of income, earning very little income less than US$400. Their annual income is not enough to take care of the home. She is attending the community primary school. Her elder sister teaches her to read short sentences at home. She likes to play hide and seek game. She is very popular among her friends as she likes to dance to local songs as young as she is.
