Ishara is a mischievous little boy who lives with his brother, sister and mother in a remote village in the Moneragala district of Sri Lanka as his father is dead. His father was attacked by an elephant while he was working in the fields. One sister lives separately. He loves to make play houses and ride bicycles. His mother works as a Casual Laborer to earn a living. His annual income is around USD490/- which is hardly sufficient for their expenses. In addition his mother attends to the house work and looks after her children. They live in their own house which has been partially constructed with bricks. Their floor is cemented and the roof is covered with asbestos sheets. They have access to proper sanitary facilities, and obtain water from their own safely built well. However, they do not have electricity. As such the children are deprived of nutritious food and other requirements. Therefore, we extend an invitation to join hands in providing care for little Ishara and his family. Your support will definitely be a blessing to little Ishara as well as his mother.
