Uvini is a little girl who lives with her brother and parents in a beautiful village in Moneragala, Sri Lanka. She attends the local school which is about 01 k.m. away and she walks to school with her friends. Her favorite subject is Mathematics. She is a healthy child and finds joy in playing with dolls and making play houses, riding bicycles and dancing. She also likes to help her mother sweep the house. They live in their own partially built house which has been constructed with cement blocks. Their floor is partly cemented and partly tiled. The roof is asbestos sheeted. They do not have access to electricity or a water sealed toilet and use water from a neighbor’s well. Her mother is a housewife and her father is a Cultivator. Sometimes, he loses all his crops due to droughts or floods. Therefore, his earning is unsure and insufficient to meet the requirements of the family. He strives to bring up his children by making many sacrifices. Your understanding and support can provide this family with the assistance they need to improve their living conditions, and offer a brighter future for Uvini to continue her studies.
