Nelio is a lovely boy who lives with his parents. They live in a self-built house with reed walls, a thatched roof and dirt floor. He is a peaceful boy living in a community located in the southeastern part of Mozambique. In the house where they live, they do not have electricity. Therefore, at night they use primitive kerosene lamps to have light. They fetch water from a manual pump. This water is not safe to drink as it contains impurities that endanger their health. On his free time, he likes playing with a soccer ball as well as gamboling with his friends. His parents are subsistence farmers and they grow cassava, maize and cowpeas. They do not own a formal job and they face problems when it comes to sustenance. They do not produce as they expect due the lack of regular rain, this is why they only have two meals a day. Nelio and his parents are willing to see him as an active participant in this project program. As active participant he will receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition and recreation.
