Pietro is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Wellington and Mayara, and with a younger brother and an older sister, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Wellington works as an assistant bricklayer (doing odd jobs) and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Pietro is playful and cheerful. He likes playing with toy cars in the company of other kids his age. Pietro is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He is still too young to attend school. The family is needy and through your support Pietro and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
