Lakesha is a calm girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She lives with her mother who is a single parent, one brother and three sisters. The family lives in a palm thatched mud hut in a communal land. They fetch water from a community hand pump whose water is saline and not safe for child consumption. Her mother is the primary caregiver of the family. She practices mat weaving and basket making as an income generation activity. However, the annual income derived from these economic activities is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to support family basic needs. Her mother decided to approach the office seeking for assistance. Lakesha does not go to school because she has not attained school going age. She likes playing with toy dolls and running with friends. Lakesha has not been assigned any chores since she is still young. Her mother would like her to grow up well and become a neuron surgeon when she grows up. Your support will bring a lasting change to her life and the entire family.
