Shalom is a quiet and kind girl living with her parents, siblings, and other close relatives in a rural village with lovely scenery and warm weather. The family lives in a small house built with cement block walls, cement floor and metal roof. The mother is just a housewife without any revenue. She stays at home to perform the house chores and take care of the family. The father does part-time driving and small-scale farming, The family manages to earn about US 400 dollars per annual from their crops at the end of the season and driving. The little earnings are attributed to the soil that has lost fertility plus pests, this income is hardly enough to take care of their basic needs such as clothing and unable to have at least two meals a day. Shalom is not in school because she is still too young. She stays most of the time at home with her mom whom she is still dependent on. She enjoys having fun with her dolls and playing with the other children in the house. Sponsorship would help this girl have a good education and succeed in life.
